Rob has proudly served on Colwood Council for the past seven years. In addition, Rob was just re-elected as Board Chair of the Greater Victoria Public Library (2016 to present). From 2012-2016 Rob was Board Chair of Westshore Parks & Recreation. He has also been an active member of the Colwood Emergency Preparation Committee since 2011.
Rob and his wife, Sheila, married in 1989 and have been residents of Colwood for the past 21 years, where they raised their children, Will and Ellie, through Sangster Elementary, Dunsmuir Middle School and Belmont Secondary.
As Greater Victoria Public Library Board Chair (2016 to 2018), Rob has seen first hand the difference our library system makes building more resilient, inclusive communities. He encourages people of all ages to take advantage of the GVPL's impressive variety of free programs and enjoy books, movies, music and magazines. Rob is proud to be a part of the place children learn to read, teens explore digital skills, adults find new careers, and newcomers find a sense of belonging.
Rob's passion for Westshore Parks and Recreation is evident when you talk to him. As Westshore Parks and Recreation Board Chair (2012-2016) Rob was involved with the Contract negotiations for the naming rights for The Q Centre, 5-year agreements with both the Victoria Grizzlies and the Victoria Shamrocks, the arrival of the Westshore Rugby Club and the building of the artificial turf field at Royal Bay Secondary School.
Rob promotes Westshore Parks and Recreation as essential to the long term health and wellness of our community.
As well as his Council duties, Rob keeps busy running his own small Business- Precise Surgical & Medical Supplies. He enjoys exploring the trails of Royal Roads with his dog, Edgar, and umpiring at Triangle Little League baseball.
